2013 Festival

Gillian Clarke“Every good town is uplifted by having its own festival, and I am delighted to support the new Arts Festival in Barry, my childhood home town.”

Gillian Clarke, National Poet of Wales,
Patron, Barry Arts Festival

Welcome to the second Barry Arts Festival.

The festival team is pleased to be able to offer an even bigger, more varied collection of events this year, including the unforgettable yarn-bombing project led by Pat Temple-Murray. It’s not too late to join in the community arts projects so read all about them inside and get involved! This year we are arranging a festival shop in what was Blockbusters on Holton Road, which we are calling “Arts Off-Centre”. Visit us there for festival information and for the exhibitions and workshops run by Vale of Glamorgan Artists. The festival team is a good mix of Barry born and bred, and others who have come to the town from elsewhere – in fact just like the performers and artists who are making an appearance at the festival. So come and enjoy our local talent and also what the wider stage has to offer. Barry Arts Festival hopes to be an ever bigger success this year so don’t miss out – let’s celebrate BARRY.
